After 10 years at JPMorgan Chase, Blair joined Barclays Capital in Singapore in 2006 as COO for Asia Operations. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the risk and control agenda, and location strategy. In addition, he was responsible for operations control, loan operations and the Asia Pacific Projects and New Business Team. In July 2010, he was appointed Asia Infrastructure COO for Barclays Corporate. Here, he was responsible for the ongoing evolution of the operating model that supports the corporate banking franchise activities. His remit was expanded in April 2013 to include global responsibility for the Reconciliation Service Utility. In this role, Blair led the creation of a group-wide Reconciliation Service Utility (Investment Banking, Wealth, Corporate, Retail and Barclaycard) that delivers improvement in control, reduction of risk, and creates efficiencies through effective implementation of technology, automation and process re-engineering. The key operating pillars of this include stakeholder and service partnership, risk and control, strategic architecture design and build, and production.
Blair has a new direction. Starting an art gallery with his wife (launching in November 2015), he has left Barclays to focus on his new business venture. The aim at Addicted Art Gallery is to connect people to art in a friendly, posh-less, non-highbrow kind of way.
