Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Armando Barragán Maya

 
Armando Barragán Maya is Head of IT at HSBC, a British multinational banking and financial services company currently ranked third largest in the world by assets. He is in charge of LATAM Software Delivery Commercial Banking and Payments, and Head of Software Delivery Wealth Management. Armando’s main activities in the role include the coordination of services lines such as system maintenance and project development execution of global initiatives in the LATAM region of Commercial Banking. He also heads up the Wealth Management initiatives in Mexico, and ensures the implementation of global systems in Mexico and LATAM.
 
Armando has held the position of Head of LAM IT Commercial Banking and Payments and Cash Management since June of 2010. His professional time is divided between offices in Mexico City and Toluca, with bi-annual business trips to the UK. He has 25 years of experience in the information technology, quality testing, demand management, and operational risk. He also has experience coordinating projects in the areas of system development and maintenance, with a focus on industries including the public sector, as well as products and the financial sector.
 
Before working in HSBC, Armando worked in Accenture during 14 years, with different roles in the financial industry, like:  Account Manager of PEMEX (Sep 2009 – Mayo 2010); Responsible of Industrialization program (Sep 2009 – May 2010); Responsible of System Implementation projects (Sep 2009 – Mayo 2010); Responsible of High Performance Delivery team (Sep 2006 – May 2010); Responsible of SAP Capability – SW Factory ABAP (Sep 2006 – May 2010); Responsible of Application Outsourcing – AO Lead (Sep 2007 – August 2009); Responsible of CMMI L3 Delivery Center Mexico Hostcentric, Netcentric y SAP (August 2008).
 
Armando earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1993. He has been certified via the Project Management Institute since 2006.
 
Fluent in English and Spanish, he enjoys cycling, golf, swimming, and playing squash. Armando lives in Mexico City, Mexico.
