Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Dr. Anna Assef-Vaziri

Dr. Anna Assef-Vaziri is a Psychologist-Psychotherapist FSP-SSTCC with over 24 years of experience. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, schema therapy (early patterns, unconscious and dysfunctional). In addition, Dr. Assef-Vaziri is also a skilled supervisor and trainer.
 
After earning a Free Master of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Lausanne in 1990, Dr. Assef-Vaziri went on to complete her DU in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in 1994. She also studied psycho-pathological studies and psycho-diagnostics in Geneva and Fribourg. Before opening her private practice, she worked for several years as a psychologist at the Hôpital Psychiatrique de Marsens, where she acquired an expertise in psychotherapy and rehabilitation. After she left this position she was requested as a Consultant to co-create the first rehabilitation service in this part of Switzerland and, thereafter act as a trainer and a supervisor for the medical and nursing team. She also spent 3 years as a Clinical Supervisor consulting on educational and vocational guidance at the University of Lausanne.
 
Much of her early work focused on disorders of childhood development, as well as on mother-child attachment and autism. For many years she has written numerous articles and given many conferences and interviews on various topics based on the CBT principles.
 
Dr. Assef-Vaziri is a native of Sweden, and currently resides in Switzerland where she volunteers much of her time to the local community. She speaks fluent English, French, and Swedish. She takes great pride in helping others, and is also a proud mother to two sons. In her spare time, Dr. Assef-Vaziri enjoys skiing, horseback riding, tennis and travel, and appreciates art and theater. She is also an avid bridge player.
