Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Dwight A. Dorey


 
Dwight A. Dorey is the Aboriginal Affairs Consultant and owner of ABCAN Affairs Group, Inc., an Aboriginal owned, federally incorporated business. It is ideally suited to provide strategic advice on a broad range of issues of Aboriginal and other multi-cultural organizations and agencies across Canada and around the world. Dwight has over 30 years experience in Aboriginal affairs, including Aboriginal rights, economic and social issues. He served as the National Chief for 6 years, a position in which he advocated for services and rights for Aboriginal people.
 
Throughout his career, Dwight has served on First Nation Band Council, as Provincial Chief elected to represent off-reserve Aboriginal people of Nova Scotia, and served as National Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples. Dwight has attended numerous international forums such as the United Nations, the Organization of American States, and the World Conference on Science. He also has lectured at universities and public forums around the country on a broad range of topics, including human rights, Aboriginal Treaty rights, self-government and cultural awareness.
 
Dwight pairs a strong background in education with experience, bringing solid leadership to ABCAN Affairs Group. He holds a Master of Arts in Canadian Studies from Carleton University. He is a member of the Nova Scotia organization affiliated with the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples and a recipient of The Aboriginal Order of Canada.
 
Dwight enjoys his down time through playing a round of golf or reading his favorite publication, the Halifax Business Journal. He resides in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.
