Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Johnny Edmonds

Johnny Edmonds is the Director of the World Indigenous Tourism Alliance (WINTA), an Indigenous-led association of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples and organizations. Working to ensure realization of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the WINTA focuses on the tourism industry to bring support and awareness to Indigenous peoples across the world.
 
Johnny also serves as a Board Member and Mentor to a number of New Zealand based companies which advise and support Maori and other Indigenous-run businesses and organizations across the Asia-Pacific region to achieve their cultural, social and economic aspirations.
 
With over 35 years of experience in land administration, business and the creative sector, Johnny possesses a broad set of skills and a unique perspective. Informed by years as Director of Planning for New Zealand National Parks and Reserves as Commissioner of Crown Lands, he has also held senior executive positions for a number of NGOs and companies including Te Papa Tongarewa National Museum of NZ and the Waitangi National Trust. He holds qualifications in Land Surveying from the University of Otago, in Town Planning from the University of Auckland, and Public Policy and Administration from Monash University.
 
Johnny celebrates his tribal affiliation to the Ngapuhi Maori tribe in New Zealand. Currently based in Wellington, he looks forward to continuing to forward Indigenous commercial progress and promote partnerships and heightened respect for Indigenous wisdom, values and knowledge.
