Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Leonardo Edde

 

Leonardo Edde has been the Owner and Creative Producer of Urca FIlmes for nearly thirteen years. Dedicated to developing high-quality content for film, television and other media, Urca has produced notable work including Elite Squad 2 (more than $60million Box Office in Brazil) and Out Of Tune. In the film division, Leonardo has contributed to a vast canon of material, such as the documentaries I am Cuba, the Siberian Mammoth and Ingenuity of ZeLins; Pachamama; the musical Slightly Out Of Tune, the comedy Mad to Get Marry (2015 –around $15 million Box Office in 3 weeks) and Lost and Found (Eduardo Albergaria). In TV, he has produced several successful projects for networks Globosat, Rede Globo, TVI (Portugal) and Bravo TV (England).

After completing his MBA at the IAG School of Business at Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro, Leonardo founded Fogo-FátuoExpeditions. Fogo-Fátuo have produced several documentaries of expeditions around the world, covering vast regions of South America and Africa. Leonardo’s notable film, In Search of Dinosaurs, ultimately led the way for him to create what became Urca Filmes. An esteemed public speaker, Leonardo has been invited to speak for audiences at both Berlin and Cannes. Considered an expert in his field, he is part of the Brazilian jury chosen to select semi-finalists in the International Emmy Awards, and has been featured in articles for Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

Leonardo enjoys giving back to and engaging with the Brazilian community, evidenced by the hands-on intern program he incorporated into his production company. By helping young filmmakers gain the experience and contacts necessary to propel a career in entertainment, he helps to ensure the next generation of Brazilian voices will be heard. Leonardo also supports Children International, and spent several years as a Greenpeace activist. He hopes to one day continue to make a difference by joining a non-profit board and venturing into pro-bono consulting.
Leonardo resides in Rio De Janeiro, and is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish.
