Mark D. Griffith is the founder and Principal partner of Griffiths & Associates, a leading criminal defense law firm based in Ellis County, Texas. One of the nation’s top criminal defense attorneys, Mark has a reputation for being the toughest criminal attorney in his region. Founding his firm in 1993, he devoted the practice from its outset to criminal defense law with a special focus on those persons accused of a crime by the Ellis County District Attorney’s office or any District Attorney in the State of Texas. He and his associates hold over 55 years of combined experience in criminal affairs, and are driven by a passion to stand as counsel for those accused of a crime or wrongdoing against the power of the Government.
 
An Ennis, Texas native, Mark received his Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies as Valedictorian from St. Edwards University in Austin.  Mark is fluent in both English and Spanish.  Completing his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law, he has vociferously pursued continued studies of his profession, thrice attending Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming to study under legal legend Gerry Spence. He also completed a training regimen with retired US Navy SEALS, and appreciates the importance of sharing his knowledge, frequently speaking at continuing education legal seminars and conferences.  Mark has tried over 200 jury trials with an acquittal rate that is rare in the criminal defense world.
 
Mark credits his and his firm’s resounding success to his passion for justice and standing up for his clients.  Mark has a team of professionals that treat each client like they should be treated, not like just another file.  He was the Founding President of the Ellis County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, who later awarded him with the “Horns of the Bull Award” in recognition of his tenacity. He also remains one of only two lawyers in Ellis County who are qualified to serve as lead counsel on death penalty cases, and has an AVVO rating of 10.0: Superb.
