Vilma De Luca Diez has been a Partner at Consultores Juridicos Asociados since 2009, and has been a Lawyer for 30 years. A Corporate Lawyer with substantial legal experience in the public and private sectors, Vilma provides superior legal support in Spanish, English and Italian. She and her firm focus on public procurement, customs procedures, companies, brands and arbitration.
 
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science at the University of Panama in 1983 and a degree in Law and Customs techniques from the American School of Public Administration of the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1986. She has the title of Technical Customs Administration from the University of Panama, with the first post of honor, and also a Master of Negotiation, Mediation and Arbitration, International Trade in the Latin American University of Foreign Trade, which she has held since 2007.
 
Vilma has spoken at numerous seminars and has served as Deputy Minister of Planning Officer, Deputy Minister of Economy Commissioned Officer and Superintendent of Banks, on several occasions. She was the last Director General of the Directorate General of Customs, Ministry of Finance, as well as the first Director General of the National Customs Authority. Vilma has been published in local Panamanian newspapers and magazines. She also spends time lecturing on Law at The University of Panama and is a member of the College of Lawyers of Panama, Association of Panamanian Female Lawyers and the Panamanian Association of Enterprise Executives (APEDE).
 
Vilma is fluent in English, Italian, and Portuguese. In her spare time, she keeps her mind and body fit, exercising her interest in history and cycling. An avid traveler, her favorite destination to-date has been the United Kingdom.
