Michael Boston is the Owner of Osa Aventura in Costa Rica. Having extensive knowledge in his field, he is very passionate about what he does. He has been in the travel business since 1998, and hopes to continue to grow and make a difference in his profession.
Mike holds a 35 year track record of scientific contribution, and 22 years of global experience in research support and adventure tourism. He has natural leadership abilities, and is involved in mentoring, knowledge transfer, business administration, international liaison and communication. He specializes in Biology, Entomology, Herpetology, Taxonomy / Phylogenetics, Zoogeography, Tropical and General Biology Technical, conducting surveys, and article writing.
Mike attended the Royal School Dungannon from, Co. Tyrone, N.I. from 1966 to 1972, University of Portsmouth, England(1976-1979), and St. Peters School, Point-a-Pierre, Trinidad&Tobago (1957-1966). He also holds three advanced level certificate passes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Michael’s duties and responsibilities include planning and selling transportation, accommodations, insurance and other services as well as cooperating with clients and determining individual needs by advising them on the appropriate destination. He has to arrange flights and insurance, collect payments, and he also goes on trips with clients and explores with them to enhance their experiences.
His work has not gone unrecognized, and he has received recognition for contribution to scientific research in the Corcovado National Park by Park Management. He is a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society of London (an elected position based owing to his research).
Although Michael’s Bachelor’s degree is in Biology, he cannot see himself doing anything other than being in the travel industry. He finds his true passion for the industry to be the key to his success.
