Danie Botha started his insurance career with Santam Insurance in 1974. After three months in underwriting, he was transferred to the claims department. From 1977 to 1982 Danie followed a career as an Organizer. In 1982 he opened a loss adjusting office, Lesley Brown & Partners. Two years later, he became an independent Loss Adjuster.
